What a woman needs at 25 is not necessarily what she needs at 45 or 65

A different perspective for every life stage. Origins, Balance, Prime and Longevity: how to build women's health from a life-course perspective, anticipating change instead of waiting for problems to appear.

Women's health cannot be approached through a single narrative.

What a woman needs at 25 is not necessarily what she needs at 45 or 65. Each stage has its own priorities, opportunities and questions.

That is why at SHOMMA we understand health from a life-course perspective.

It is not about waiting for problems to appear before we start taking care of ourselves. It is about building health at every stage, anticipating change and preserving what we want to keep for longer.

ORIGINS · 18 to 30

Building the foundations of health, understanding the cycle and anticipating risks.

At this stage the goal is to gain knowledge about your own body and establish habits that can become a genuine investment in the future.

It is not about living worried about your health because you are young. It is about learning to care for yourself before you need to repair.

BALANCE · 30 to 45

Sustaining energy, metabolism, reproductive health and balance in a highly demanding stage.

These are years in which professional development, relationships, motherhood or non-motherhood, family responsibilities and multiple personal projects can coexist.

Health should not be reduced solely to fertility or motherhood.

The goal is to sustain energy, care for metabolism and maintain physical and emotional balance while going through one of the most demanding stages of adult life.

PRIME · 45 to 60

Understanding the hormonal transition and protecting bone, muscle, metabolism, heart and mind.

From this stage onwards, significant changes can occur in the body and in health. Understanding them allows us to stop interpreting every transformation as an isolated problem and to start acting preventively.

Menopause should not be presented as an inevitable decline. It is a biological transition that deserves information, assessment and support.

It is also a strategic stage to protect what will be fundamental in the following decades: bone, muscle, metabolism, cardiovascular health and cognitive function.

LONGEVITY · 60 and beyond

Preserving function, strength, cognition, confidence and autonomy.

Longevity should not be built on the fear of ageing.

At this stage, the goal is to preserve the ability to live with autonomy, maintain strength and physical function, care for cognitive health and continue developing an active and meaningful life.

We are not talking about frailty. We are talking about capacity.

Because getting older should not mean giving up autonomy, confidence or the projects that make us feel alive.

A strategy that evolves with you

These four stages are part of one same philosophy: health is not static.

Our bodies change. Our circumstances change. Our priorities change. And our health strategy should change too.

At SHOMMA we do not want to build communication based on fear, disease or the idea that there is an age from which our body begins to fail.

We want to talk about opportunities. About what we can know. About what we can prevent. About what we can protect. And about how we can keep building health at every stage of our life.

Because longevity does not begin when we grow old. It begins much earlier, with the decisions we make today.
